Skills

My background is in theater and I am still relatively new to the tech world. Actors are some of the few people left who are still working with pen and paper, but that being said I am doing my best to get up to speed within my new field. For my capstone project I will be working with animated visualizations, so editing skills and video will be skills I would be able to offer later in the semester should some of the projects involve that. In general, I would say that my strengths are on the creative and collaborative side.

Design

I have an instinct for what works well visually and would probably have a lot to offer when it came to design and the visual representation of a project. My MALS track is in data visualization and I have been diving into that since last semester, so visualizing data would be the field I have the most experience with as of now. Data collection and analysis are skills I am acquiring and eager to keep developing.

Research

Research is something I really enjoy and would love to get more experience doing. I do have the detective gene and I am good at organizing and categorizing material. I am also one of those people who enjoys working with meticulous details and databases.

Project Manager & Community Outreach

These are two roles that I don’t have much experience with but would like to learn more about. I am probably more of a team member than a leader though, and collaboration and team work is in my nature.

Developer

This would be the field where I have no experience to offer but would be more than happy to learn more about. Python has been on my list for a while and I currently at the absolute beginner level.
